Author Guidelines

Holistic Nursing Journal – Publication Guidelines

1.     The Holistic Nursing Journal is dedicated to publishing original research and scientific articles in various nursing specialties.

2.     All submitted articles and research papers are subject to peer review by experts from inside and outside Iraq to ensure the quality of their scientific content.

3.     Articles that have been previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere will not be accepted.

4.     The research/article must be clear, precise, and linguistically accurate in Arabic or English, following proper grammar rules.

5.     The manuscript must be submitted in either Arabic or English, accompanied by an abstract in both languages. The abstract should not exceed 200–250 words.

6.     The manuscript should be typed on A4 paper, double-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides. The total length should not exceed 10 pages, including tables and figures.

7.     Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Office Word 2019, using Arabic Transparent font, size 12 for text, tables, figures, and references. Researcher names should be in size 14, abstracts and keywords in size 10, with 1 cm line spacing.

8.     Authors must provide their full names, academic affiliations, phone numbers, email addresses, and the title of the manuscript in both Arabic and English.

9.     Once accepted, the article must be submitted in its final form with the reviewer’s amendments, saved on a CD.

10.  The manuscript should follow the structure below:

·        Title

·        Author's Name

·        Abstract (including Objective, Methodology, Results, Recommendations)

·        Second Language Abstract (including Introduction, Objective, Methodology, Results, Recommendations)

·        Keywords in both Arabic and English (3–5 words related to the main topic, lowercase bold)

·        Introduction

·        Objective

·        Methodology

·        Results

·        Discussion

·        Recommendations

·        References

11.  The sections: Introduction / Methodology / Discussion / Recommendations should be formatted in two columns per page.

12.  Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially, each with a title placed above the table. Explanatory notes should be listed below, referenced in the main text accordingly.

13.  References should follow the APA 7th edition style. The number of references should not exceed 20, preferably published within the past 7 years.

14.  References cited in the text should be numbered and included at the bottom of the page (*).

15.  Submitted articles will not be returned, even if rejected.

16.  Authors must pay 100,000 IQD to the journal’s finance unit to cover publication costs.

17.  Authors from outside Iraq must pay $100 USD upon article acceptance.

18.  For tables containing abbreviations, explanatory notes must be added below each table.

19.  All submitted articles must be checked for originality using Turnitin, with an allowed similarity index of no more than 15%, and textual overlap must not exceed 2%.

20.  The Methodology section must clearly describe ethical considerations, including official approval for all research samples, in compliance with applicable laws and ensuring the rights of both the researcher and the subjects.

21.  The Corresponding Author must be identified in the footer of the first page of the manuscript.

22.  Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3…) should be used throughout the manuscript in applicable sections.

23.  Authors must clearly disclose all organizations, institutions, or entities, whether national or international, that have supported the research financially.
