AI-Assisted Content Policy
The Holistic Nursing Journal (HNJ)recognizes the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in academic writing and research preparation. The journal is committed to maintaining transparency, academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing standards regarding the use of AI-assisted tools.
Use of AI Tools
Authors may use artificial intelligence tools for limited purposes such as:
- Language editing
- Grammar correction
- Formatting assistance
- Reference organization
However, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scientific validity of all submitted content.
Disclosure Requirement
Authors must clearly disclose any use of AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of the manuscript, including the name of the tool and its purpose of use.
A disclosure statement may be included in the manuscript when applicable.
Example:
“The authors used AI-assisted tools for language editing and formatting purposes only.”
Authorship Responsibility
Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they:
- Cannot take responsibility for the content
- Cannot approve the final manuscript
- Cannot fulfill authorship criteria according to international publishing standards
Only human contributors who meet authorship requirements may be listed as authors.
Prohibited Uses
The journal does not permit the use of AI tools for:
- Fabricating or manipulating research data
- Generating false information or references
- Producing misleading scientific content
- Manipulating images or results unethically
- Replacing critical scientific interpretation or author responsibility
Any misuse of AI technologies may be considered publication misconduct.
Editorial Evaluation
The editorial office and reviewers reserve the right to evaluate the appropriateness and ethical use of AI-generated or AI-assisted content during the peer review and publication process.
